Tazewell T. Hubard, III, J.D., is the owner of Conflict Management Associates, LLC, which helps families and individuals facing important decisions. Tazewell has facilitated the mediation of over 5,500 family-related disputes, including adoptions, pre-marital and marital agreements, domestic partnership agreements, parenting plans, division of property, parent/child issues, financial planning, health care, elder care and probate/estate matters.

A native of Tidewater Virginia, Tazewell graduated from the Virginia Military Institute and the University of Richmond School of Law, and served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Tazewell has over 40 years of legal and consulting experience, including serving as a Substitute Judge in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts for 19 years. In addition to his legal career, he has served for the last 30 years as a certified mediator, coach and communications and conflict management trainer. As a Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and the Academy of Professional Family Mediators, he has extensive experience in leading change initiatives built around communication and conflict management techniques in family relationships. He served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Marshall-Wythe School of Law, College of William & Mary, for over 10 years, teaching Divorce Mediation and Family Dispute Resolution.

Tazewell also conducts a variety of conflict management trainings for non-profit organizations and business and corporations, as well as frequently appearing at workshops sponsored by the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Bar Association, Academy of Professional Family Mediators, Virginia Mediation Network, Tidewater Mediation Network, Association for Conflict Resolution, the American Bar Association, American Psychological Association and the Supreme Court of Virginia.
